Red Crab
This outlet of the small Manila chain is all things crab, from the crab origami decorating the stylish dining room to the myriad of crab preparations on the menu. There's lots of other seafood items on the menu but you can never go wrong with Thai chilli crab.

Zamboanga Restaurant
The prices here aren’t bad considering that along with your dinner you get a one-hour Filipino cultural program, complete with colourful costumes and indigenous dances such as tinikling. Food is best described as gourmet Filipino.

Sea Food Market
As its name suggests, the long ice counter here looks much like the seafood tank at a grocery store. Point to your preference, then watch as a team of chefs cooks your meal in a flaming wok that’s clearly visible from the sidewalk outside.

Crossroads
For high-class, international-style dining, you can’t go past Crossroads, a mini mall in the ‘foothills’ of the Waterfront Hotel. A metered taxi from Fuente Osmeña Circle will cost you P80.

Pantalan Maynila
Locally a favourite, the menu is as long as the ocean is deep. The seafood is pretty reasonable (ask for lots of garlic) except for that huge lobster in the corner; he'll set you back around P3000.

Mandarine Palace
One of the big restaurants in Chinatown, it specialises in seafood dinners, as you might infer from the tanks of fish swimming at the door. A bit stark, but the lunch buffets are popular.

Restaurante Banza
Considered one of the best restaurants on the island, it's also one of the more expensive. Portuguese owner/chef Antonio serves the freshest seafood, with an emphasis on quality, flavour, oil and garlic. There's plenty to choose from, but the simple meals like garlic tiger prawns are some of the best.
