Lonely Planet review for Red Crab
This outlet of the small Manila chain is all things crab, from the crab origami decorating the stylish dining room to the myriad of crab preparations on the menu. There's lots of other seafood items on the menu but you can never go wrong with Thai chilli crab.

Crabtastic!

Be sure to go to Red Crab hungry and ready to get dirty.
The place serves fat, huge and delicious Philippine crabs! And you should not go there alone because the food is all meant to be shared. It's best to get a reservation before going to the restaurant especially during Fridays and weekends because of the number of patrons of this restaurant. When you get there, someone from the staff will immediately usher your group to a table, takes your order and offers you something to protect your clothes. You are also expected to eat using your fingers.
Afterwards, there is a tolerable waiting period. I do suggest to diners to wisely use that window for conversation. One you have the crab bucket, or the crab plate, there will be not much time to talk. Once the food is served, expect to see people create their own little world and only attend to their own servings.
The Red Carb offers around 15 ways to cook the crab, but I absolutely love their Crab Maritess. It's spicy and tasty!. The olive oil does not overpower the sweet and salty taste of the crab. They crab is well done and juicy. Most crabs dry up when fried, but Red Crab's does not.
Although their other dishes are worth discussing, I'd rather not. The crab alone is enough to draw people in. But of course they have their own merit and really meant to complement the crabs they serve. If you must, get any of their paellas (Paella Flamenco, Paella Adobo or Seafood Paella). They also have a decent wine and beverage selection to go with the seafood that they serve.
Because of the quality of their food, the Red Crab in the Philippines has become an authority on serving delicious and fresh seafood. Truly, the Red Crab does justice to the gifts of the sea in this country where marine resources are naturally plenty.
