Lonely Planet review for Italianni's

New York-style Italian food stars, which means thick tomato sauce, great meatballs and big portions. One of the most popular places on this popular strip of restaurants, the staff here takes motivation seriously: group cheers are common.

A not so consistent Italian dining experience

    marjo82 recommends this,

We've eaten here a lot of times. For Filipinos, the price here is considered expensive unlike foreigners whose currency is worth more here. I think they have different chefs and some og them might not be right for their job. Why? Sometimes the food is really delicious, but there are times that it doesn't meet our standards. For example, we always ordered seafood risotto. With our last visit, the risotto rice is not well cookes. The rice is really hard to chew compared before and it was really salty! For the good part, I really love that they always serve free 2 different bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. If the bread is not enough, you can always ask for more! Let's just hope the next time you visit there the chef that will cook your food is experienced and not novice, then you will have a great experience!

Where good taste meets good prices

    spoofy recommends this,

A true Manila dweller, when asked about his or her top three three Italian resto, will surely include Italianni's on the list. Rich and succulent food, coupled with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere makes this place one of my favorite restaurants.

We often visit Italianni's during lunch or dinner for their popular buffet, to sample all the food that they can offer in small servings. Their Margherita pizza and toasted bruschetta is a good start before you enjoy the main course. One of their specialties is the Chicken Marsala Risotto. The chicken is tender and juicy, not dry and flaky. They also have a pasta station where chefs can create a specially-made serving for you.

Finish off with a panna cotta. Surely, if the courses and appetizers cannot sway your mighty opinion, the panna cotta will break away the stone wall of indifference to this resto.

I recommend this place where friends, families and couples can meet and have a great conversation over great food. I have visited several branches of this resto and so far, all of my visits are pleasant. They have good serving sizes and the staff are attentive. I have always been clumsy and during the times that I perform my "best", they are cheerful in providing me a new fork or extra tissues. The tab may not be cheap, but with all the fresh and tasty food they serve, I'd say that their prizes are all reasonable.

So if ever you visit Manila, and if you suddenly crave for Italian food but unsure where to go, Italianni's may be your best bet.
