Tasty Dumplings

Tasty Dumplings serves the best dumplings ever, from the chewy outer shell to the lean and juicy meat filling... and that sauce! It has the faint smell of fish sauce but there's more to it than that, it goes so well with the dumplings. 

Last time I checked, one order of dumplings costs about P60 (US$2+), and you get 8 good-sized pieces per order. You can have them steamed or fried, either way they're just delicious. I usually order their slightly sweet, chewy Silver Roll Bread (somewhat like mantou, about P35 or less than US$1) to go with the dumplings.

Aside from the dumplings, I also like their Hongma (available in small and large portions) with the Silver Roll. Hongma is finely sliced Chinese style pork served with pickled vegetables. It's actually the perfect partner for the silver roll because you can dip the bread in the Hongma sauce. I imagine the dumplings would actually go better with rice, it's just my Silver Roll fetish that always gets me ordering the dumplings and the roll together.

Meanwhile, my husband and son are addicted to their Porkchop Noodles, which is lean, crispy, and tasty pork chop served on top of al dente noodles and a bit of kiamchay with a bowl of clear soup on the side. Yum yum yum!

Cheap, filling, and delicious! The place is small and air-conditioned. The ambiance is reminiscent of those little eateries on the streets of Chinatown. You can actually buy their dumplings frozen so you can enjoy them at home.

Tasty dumplings is one of those small unassuming places that locals patronize. This place has been around for ages. Everyone orders the fried porkchop, Php90 its a piece of meat thats been pounded flat as a leaf, breaded, deep fried and served with either steamed rice or taiwanese style noodle soup.  Others prefer the deep fried silver bread, a hunk of steamed bun that's been fried golden brown to sop up the sauce from the braised pork belly with preserved vegetables (hong-ma) , yes you read it right, pork belly, fatty, flavorful, oily and oh so good!
Actually the steamed dumplings are quite mediocre but its cheap and fills the belly.
Service is efficient, you get a glass of hot tea the minute you sit down and there's a guy with a teapot of hot soup refilling bowls at lunchtime.
