Money and costs

The three main Philippine banks with ATM machines that accept Western bank cards – Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Metrobank and Banco de Oro (BDO) – have scores of branches across the city, including in all major malls. They usually have a limit of P10,000 per withdrawal. Citibank allows P15,000 while HSBC allows up to P40,000 per withdrawal. The Citibank main office and HSBC main office are in Makati’s central business district.

Malate and Ermita are peppered with money changers and there are places all over the city where you can change foreign currency into Philippine pesos, but take care to count the money to ensure you haven't been short-changed.
