Among Lima's most polished hotels, the Sonesta Posada del Inca chain's El Olivar is a low-rise beauty with a modern country club atmosphere. The property sprawls beside a park planted with olive trees, after which the hotel was named. The service is flawless, especially for travelling executives.
Despite its inconvenient location in San Isidro, the El Olivar is a hands-down favorite among business travellers who demand nothing less than the best. The 130-odd spacious rooms, many of which extend onto plant-laden balconies with park views, come equipped with marble bathrooms and every expected amenity, including dual-voltage outlets and dataports. Don't forget to take a dip in the rooftop pool. There's also an expanded workout facility and spa and a well-stocked business centre at the hotel. Because the El Olivar is ensconced in one of Lima's wealthiest neighbourhoods, the nearby streets around the Camino Real shopping mall are full of boutiques, salons and high-end restaurants. If you stay here, plan on taking a taxi everywhere else.
