I am looking for help on how to get from Arequipa in Peru to Arica in Chile. For some reason its been really hard to get any information even from iPeru. I hear from iPeru that buses are on strike in Tacna and so my only option is train. But they state that the bus strike should be over by the time I get to Arequipa.
I also heard there is no direct bus from Arequipa to Arica. That I have to get off at Tacna and take a collective to cross over to Chile.
Being that I am a woman…
I will be in Cusco on July 1st and hope to stay there for about 7 to 10 days to include MP and other interesting activities. Any suggestions on good, cheap, clean hostels to stay that are close to plaza de armas town center. I would prefer quite places to noisy places, a little noise is okay. I would also prefer a hostel that has a good hot shower, a good working internet and wifi, most include breakfast so thats fine, and also a hostel that includes linen and towels.
My daughter (age 14) and I will be traveling to Peru this September for 35 days and the following itinerary has been suggested to us.

Day 04: Nazca Lines & Chauchilla & Cantalloc & Dune buggy & Sandboarding / Overnight bus to Arequipa

Day 06: Cotahuasi Canyon Marpa Ruins Hike (7 days)
I will be travelling to Peru arriving in Lima on September 25 and spending 3 weeks in Peru, flying out again from Lima. I am a single guy aged 40 and will be travelling alone. I do have experience backpacking but mostly in Asia and not yet in South America. As I only have three weeks I want to keep the night buses to a minimum. I have no itinerary yet but off course I want to see Machu Pichu. I like to see some historical sights and some amazing sceneries, I love food so I would…
Just seeing if theres anything happening at the moment or some cool things to do on the way. Ive been in Cusco for around 6 days, enjoyed every minute. I have 23 days from tomorrow before i have to catch a flight from Lima to Bogata. Planning to be in Cusco a couple more days then catch a bus to Lake Titicaca on to La Paz probably not staying long and to Salar de Uyuni. Thinking will get a flight back to Lima after that. I have to tighten up the budget a lil bit as ive been careless…
HI, We travel next week and would like to experience fusion cuisine. Please recommend a place close to the JW Mariott. Also, we plan to see Huaca Pucilana and Church of San Francisco the first day. Sleep in, lunch at the fusion restaurant then Huaca Pucilana and then Church. Is Uber our best mode of transportation?
Hi there !
I am a 23 years old woman living in Rio and will go to Peru from the 29th June to the 16th. I booked a flight to Cuzco because I prefer to focus on the southern part and do cusco/arequipa/puno. I love to trek and want to do the 5D Salkantay and the 3D colcoa.
I have a few questions regarding my itinerary :
I know I'll have to adapt to the mountain, so I wonder how to organise it. I arrive at midday on the 29th. I was thinking :
29 visit of cuzco and book a trek of salkantay
Hello! I have revised my itinerary several times, but would like some advice on particular areas. My boyfriend and I are traveling to Peru for 3 weeks and want to get the most out of our trip. We are landing in Lima and going straight to Parcas the same day. We plan to spend the next day there wandering the city and renting ATVs. The next day we will do the islas ballestas tour in the morning, then go to Huacachina in the afternoon. We plan on spending the night there, then heading to Arequipa…
Plan to finish up our trek on the Salkantay trail and tour MP by a Sat evening.
We fly out of Lima at midnight the following Wed. In the time that's left, can we see both the Amazon and cruise to the Islas Ballestas or is that wishful thinking?
thanks in advance for any advice,
OK, here is the deal. Lima airport has a dispensary with a live Doctor 24 hours a day. Yellow fever shot cost 87 S which is about $29 US.
Doctor told me that you can get that shot in any city in Peru at a public dispensary for 50 S or about $16 US.....BUT you will not get a "shot card" to use at future boarder crossings if you use those city dispensaries
Forgot to ask about organ transplants but I assume you could get one while waiting for a flight
