Hey fellow wanderers,
I'm booking my flight to Lima, Peru as we speak, and realizing I could save myself some money and hassle if I arrive late on January 31, as opposed to on February 1st, when my travel insurance "technically" starts. Will there be any issue if I arrive with no travel insurance for those couple of hours? Should I / can I purchase an extra day's worth of travel insurance?
Would appreciate some of your wisdom :) cheers,

My husband, our 7 year old son and I will visit Peru from July 20th till August 11th(22 days in Peru).
We would love to go to Machu Picchu (Cusco, MP and sacred valley about 5 days) and 4 days, 3 nights to Manu.
Probably taking a flight from Cusco back to Lima. That leaves us about 12 days. Where would you suggest to spent them? We don't like to rush around so Lima-Pisco- Nazca -Arequipa- Colca Canyon -Puno and Lake Titicaca might be too much?
I've spent the last 3 days reading in…
I'm trying to book a flight from Cuzco to Iquitos on he 11 of February. I'm using star peru, and the flight is affordable (86 Cuzco to lima , 80 lima to iquitos). The problem is I'm booking it as two separate flights because the site doesn't allow to book as one flight with a stopover in lima. I have a 2,5 hour connection time in lima. Does anyone have experience with star peru, if my first flight is late, and I mss the second leg of the journey to Iquitos, will star peru honour my second…
I would appreciate if any one can recommend reliable tour agency/agencies for a guided tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu. We are planning to do it in June 2015. thanks
We've been planning a trip to Peru starting in late March (first time!) and just realized it falls right on the Holy Week, which from some cursory googling sounds like could become quite painful to find hotels, get buses, etc. without advanced reservations. Although I acknowledge would be neat to see some of the celebrations we usually just wing it in country staying at each place until we're ready to go so I'm wondering if we'd be wiser moving the trip up a few weeks to avoid it since…
Hey Guys ,
Has anyone recently got a boat from Iquitos to Equador or even knows if it can be done? If so how long does it take,, how frequent are the departues and how much does it cost ?
I appricate any information or advice you can give.
Thanks in advance
I flew VivaColombia within Colombia when they first entered the market about 2 years ago. As of this month December, they have expanded to a few international locations such as Quito and Lima. On select dates in January and February, for example, Lima-Bogota-Lima flights are going as low as $200 total! Has anyone flown them recently, and especially internationally (beyond just Colombia)?
Has anyone found out that the rail lines out of Cusco is now bus and then switch to the train? Has anyone been on this route since it was changed? No trains as it's closed for repair until April. We were looking forward to taking the train all the way in Jan but it seems that isn't going to happen. Any info would be appreciated.
