When the smell of garlic hits your nose on a Pacific sea breeze, you know you will dine well. Built into the clifftop and with its balcony dangling out over the sea, Vista al Mar is an elegant, modern restaurant serving a variety of meals and snacks. Fish and ceviche are wise options. It also does a great breakfast buffet at weekends. Watch for the occasional paraglider floating past along the cliffs.

    We had limited time in Lima and decided to stay in Miraflores which is the beautiful part of Lima. We stumbled across the LarcoMar which has a prime location on the cliff tops edge with it's spectacular views looking out at the ocean. There are many dining options in this area but we were attracted to Visa Al Mar for its ambience and table location for a complete dining experience with a view.

    It was hard to pick from the menu as there was so much to choose from, we were recommended to try the local seafood and decided on the fish and calamari which was beautiful and I could tell it was fresh. We tried the local cerveza (beer) and wine from their extensive list. Our waitress was extremely helpful and was very patient when we tried to put some very basic Spanish together.

    The cost was very reasonable especially for the location and nice restaurant with high quality food.

    I'd say "VISTA AL MAR, come for the food and take in the views" A place not to be missed when visiting Lima.
