What would be the best time to photograph the view in viewpoints of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara in Arequipa at the beginning of June?
Thank you in advance the kind of reply.

Hello, friends. I'm leaving in a couple of weeks for Peru and have not been able to find a good answer regarding the size of USD bills to take. I prefer to take all cash and not use ATM's, so typically I take all $100 notes when traveling internationally. Will I have any trouble changing these? I understand that all USD should be in excellent physical condition.

Thanks,
Doug

both LAN and AVIANCA fly this route, Lima to Iquitos, but is there an extranjero charge on LAN still? Is it cheaper to book once we are in Lima?

Hi folks
Does anybody have fresh news about Santa Teresa train to Machu Picchu? Is it still running regularly? Any online schedule?
And what about the road between Santa Teresa and Cuzco? Any recent improvments? Is it a reasonably safe way to be made with a rented car from Cuzco?
Alternatively, regarding we will be driving our way around, is Ollantaytambo the best base for Machu Picchu, or it is posible to reach Aguas Calientes by car?
Thanks,

Hey there happy wanderers. My daughter and I are in Cusco and we got a quote of about 850 sols or about 275 US for transport to Hidro, hostel, MP entrance fee, bus up/down, aguas-mapi-aguas, and then back to Cusco. Those in the know, does this seem reasonable?

PLEASE SHARE:
Is anybody or do you know anybody who is coming to Cusco, Peru, within the next two weeks, ideally from Germany? We urgently need a spare part for our car (small, weight only 100 gramm). Is it impossible to buy it here and trying to send it by post to Bolivia was successless. Would be really great if someone could contact us, we would order the tiny thing and send it directly to you, later we will meet in Cusco. Thanks a lot for sharing!!!!
Save travels!

We are in Peru & heading to Cusco today where we will stay for a week - 10 days. I didn't visit the Amazon jungle or river when I was here last time in 2009 but my husband and I want to do it this time, I'm keen to do some kind of cruise for a few days but we are neither backpackers nor rich luxury travellers. Ideally I'd like something for 3-5 days for a budget of up to $1000, $1500 at a stretch. My husband would be happy with a hammock on a boat but I need more comfort than that, a decent…

We are hoping to travel by day time bus from Arequipa to La Paz. From my research so far it looks as if an overnight stop in Puno is a good idea, although I am open to suggestions. The Peru Hop buses seem to do this route, although there will be about 4-5 hours in Copacabana. We hadn't really planned on visiting the islands of Lake Titicaca as the reviews are rather mixed and we don't have a lot of time, but maybe a short island tour would be the best use of our time. I like the idea of…

Hi everyone,

I am looking at info about Machu Picchu for my trip to Peru in early September and I have read so many recommendations about getting the Inca trail trekking well in advance, that I was even considering getting it with an agency in advance instead of trying there, do you have any recommendations about suitable agencies?

Some options I have looked at seem to me ridiculously expensive, is this the general trend or something can be arranged once there?

As extra info, I am travelling…

How much should I plan on spending to do a 6, 7, or 8 day complete circuit of Ausangate?

I just got an estimate over the internet of 1000 USD -- that sounds a bit high, and i'm not talking altitude. I know from comparing prices over the internet in the U.S. to prices on the ground in Arequipa for climbs of Chachani and Misti that the price in Peru can be less than 50% of what's said online.

Thanks in advance.
