I am on a higher consciousness journey that is nudging me towards South America. My hope is to set out on a 2-3 month path of spiritual enlightenment in a Spanish speaking country to find... Simultaneously I would love to learn Spanish by way of classes/tutorship/submersion. Limited budget, limited Spanish skills and riding solo as a female. Please guide me towards best options, recommendations, cautions, bargains etc . Much appreciated. One love!

Hello fellow travellers!
First time posting to something like this, and it's my first time really travelling and I'm so excited I could vomit (in fact I probably will before my plane leaves tomorrow!)
So, I'm writing in hopes of a few things, mainly I'd love some advice. I'm a solo female traveller going to Peru with my backpack and open mind. I was really hoping to get into the Jungle for a few days, and I've read a few different things about the various places one could do this. My plan was to…
I've been trying to buy MP tickets on the official government website,
but it kept rejecting my Visa card.
I called my bank (Wells Fargo) and they said they do not allow transactions with this site because it has been determined to be "fraudulent". I said there must be some mistake, as this is an official government site.
Anyone else have a similar problem? Any fix, other than to buy the tickets at a higher price from an agent? I found this thread but it's…
I'm planning a two-week trek into Peru in June and would greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions:
Lima to Arequipa/Colca Canyon (3 days)
Arequipa to Lake Titicaca (2 days)
Lake Titicaca to Cusco/Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu (5 days)
Cusco to Manu (3 days)
Manu to Cusco to Lima (1 day)
Is this itinerary realistic? If you had to downsize would you cut Lake Titicaca or Manu? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
A month ago I posted about airlines and masks, 'mstep' and some others were very helpful. Managed to book 20 flights in SA, so that crap is finished. They were extremely helpful and I was thankful that they took the time.
Additionally, 'mstep' said that I would need to get the Machu Picchu tickets in advance, not the day of or the day before. Does anyone know what process or who to contact to book the tickets??? I couldn't ask at the time because there was so much on my plate…
Can someone please tell me the quickest way from Guayaquil to Huaraz, I am trying not to stay in Trujillo for the day (if i go from guayaquil to Trujillo). Is there a different route I can take? Is there any other bus companies beside cruz del sur? I was told CIFA or Ormeno does the route but I can not find any of the times online. Been searching online and currently in Montanita and do not think there is any angencies here that can help me with it. Any suggestions be appreciated
Hey, looking for travel companions! Possibly looking at going to Peru for about 5 weeks from late december to late january. Im looking for a person or people who like to travel simple and roll with the punches. i like to travel light and hope to do some trekking in the quieter parts of the country but im super flexible. Im just looking to hang with like minded people. I usually travel alone but trying something different this time, so who is out there! talk soon, Chris-canada
I have drawn up a rough itinerary for my time in Peru and Bolivia and would massively appreciate any advice. I know it's not a lot of time and I am wondering whether my friends and I are trying to pack too much into 2.5 weeks. The only things we have penciled in on our calendars are the Machu Pichu on the 6th and Uyuni Salt flat tours on the 12th. Everything else can be changed around.
June 1: Arrive in Lima 19:45
June 2: Lima, see the city, etc..
June 3: Lima (overnight bus is 20 hours…
I just purchased the new Lonely Planet Guidebook to Peru. It was published this month. It is the 9th edition.
The cover shows the back of the head of a traditionally dressed Peruvian woman. It contains 592 pages.
