Lonely Planet review for Biomuseo
The whimsical Biomuseo explains (only in Spanish, alas!) world bio-diversity through the medium of the potato. Opening hours and admission prices are erratic.

A beautiful experience
slipcat recommends this,
I nice little place to visit. Beautiful displays of traditional foods, including hundreds of varieties of corn and potatos. There is a traditional Quechua kitchen with cuys running around. They serve you tea in the kitchen, and you can also buy other products--crafts, traditional foods, soaps, etc. The owner is very dedicated. I don't think she spoke English, but even if you don't know Spanish it is still worth a visit. There are cats and chickens running around the courtyard. The museum also hosts other activities like storytelling, though you have to find out about them in advanced.
