Lonely Planet review for Aldea Yanapay

With stuffed animals, board games and decor that perfectly evokes the circus you dreamed of running away with as a child, Aldea Yanapay is pitched at families but will appeal to anyone with a taste for the quixotic. Food includes burritos, falafel and tasty little fried things to pick at, and there’s a whole separate menu for vegetarians. Profits go to projects helping abandoned children. Highly recommended.

Good food, and doing good for local kids. Go here.

We've eaten here twice and enjoyed both times. The first time was in mid-afternoon for a pizza snack. Most pizza in Peru is not that great (something about the cheese and the dough). This pizza is much more what I'm used to. We also ate here for New Years eve and had the set menu that night. Pea soup was outstanding, and main entree was good too. I wasn't a fan of the dessert, but that's because I don't like raisins.

All in all a great experience there with good service, good food, festive atmosphere, and knowing that you're doing some good for the local community by eating there. What's not to like?
