A favorite of those seeking adventure tours, and offering a full range of trekking, climbing and mountain-biking options. One popular tour is a three- to four-hour bike trip down El Misti (US$45) including transportation and bike, helmet, guide and snacks. It’s also possible to rent mountain bikes for S9 per hour. Guides speak English, French and German.

    Great Agency - Chachani Mountain Climb

    I purchased a solo trip up to Chachani. Kris was very helpful and speaks terrific English. I also got to know the owner, Lalo. The trip was great, a 2 day summit of Chachani. The guide spoke English well enough. We had great weather and began the summit attempt at 1am, climbing at a slow but constant pace we reached the summit at 7:20am on a sunny morning. I was a bit dizzy from the height.

    Lalo and I had a good conversation about the city and the economic conditions in Peru the night before the trip while getting equipped. Upon my return, Kris mentioned she was going out to a salsa club with some of her foreign friends and invited me. After some good priming at the hostel bar on Hawaiian night, I ventured out, hula skirt and all and had at times moments of coordination.

    The next day I met Lalo and Kris for lunch and a traditional diner. They also ended up giving me a ride to the airport. I can't recommend these two enough. It was a highlight of my trip getting to know them.

    As soon as I walked into the office Kris was very welcoming. Kris was a super friendly lass and we had a long chat about Arequipa. I actually went in to ask about the colca canyon trek and left signed up for a mountain biking down Picchu Picchu. The trip was great fun and Guillermo the tour guide, and Eduado the boss who was our driver were very funny and knowledgeable about the area. The additional treat was that after the trip they invited us out for lunch and drinks. They then came out that night and we went to Orisha´s Salsa club until 4am. I definitely benefitted from the off season as they had more time to entertain me, but they were great. Kris even arranged a Salsa lesson and her friend Italy came along to be my dance partner for fun. Fantastic hospitality. A great company with the right approach to tourism.
