City hotels and hostels are generally good value with air-conditioning, private bathrooms and wi-fi access. Residenciales (guesthouses), though worn and of a distant era, are usually basic but clean. Hospedajes are at the lowest end of the scale and can attract suspect clientele. Camping facilities are rare. Most land is privately owned, so you can't pitch a tent without permission. In the Chaco, outside of the main towns, you will need your own food, drink and bed sheets.
