From Campo Grande the bus to Ponta Pora takes 5.5 hours & costs 90 Real. The Policia Federal in Ponta Pora town centre no longer give exit & entry stamps, you need to go to Policia Federal in Ponta Pora airport. From the bus stn. get a bus to Shopping China, a huge shopping centre, you can´t miss it. From Shopping China go across the highway & follow signs to the airport, about a 1KM walk from the highway. Back at Shopping China the white building on the right is Paraguayan passport control…
We know that it was not very nice idea from Py to apply the "reciprocal fee" for Visa for the Australiens, Canadiens, US-Americans and some more. I tell you travellars, that whe are very unhappy about that sh.... and that we (travel providers) suffer from that 90 % down on travellars flow.
We give you our word that Py is unchanched worth a trip on the "unbeaten track" and that you (as the thousonds of travellars in the years before) will discover a very beatyfull country.

I have read an old blog that talked about being able to get a visa for Paraguay from the Paraguay Consulate in Buenos Aieres. The wait time is only 24 hours. I haven't been able to confirm this with my nearest embassy, which is Australia. Does anyone know if this is still possible?
Hi, I'm a 27 years old Jordanian civil engineer working in UAE, planning to travel to Asuncion to live there for a while, however I don't know much about this country in all aspects, such as, Are there good opportunities to work there as a civil engineer or anything else? What is the cost of living there? Where exactly is the best place to live, as in nice & cheep? Being lousy Spanish speaker, is it gonna be a real issue or people there can speak English? What is all this talk about criminal…
We spent a few days in Paraguay, december 2015.
Interesting to see local different way of life of this country, no tourists... If you are around Iguazu, nice to have a look.
Infos: buses, prices, budget, hoetls, etc. on our blog. In spanish (good to practice).
I'll arrive at Asuncion airport Saturday night and will take a taxi directly to my hotel. I heard exchange rate at the airport is very bad (not even sure if they're open around midnight). Do taxi drivers accept USD? Everybody says downtown Asuncion is a ghost town Sunday morning. Where can I change money there? Perhaps hotels, bus station? Thanks for any info/advice.
I plan to go to Paraguay on a very tight schedule. Unfortunately I will only have a week there. I am interested in visiting primarily the indigenous Guarani and staying withthem for 2 days. Im also interested in visiting some nice places in nature and towns. I will be entering from Iguazu. Can someone please recommend me a route based on my interest that would be much appreciated.
... I think we can go to the immigration office in Asunción and get an extension stamp, but, Paraguay being Paraguay, I guess there could be forms, several offices, and multiple fees to cover this. Has anyone been through the process recently, or knows how it works?
