Getting Around

Bus & Taxi

Noisy, bone-rattling kamikaze-like city buses (2300G) go almost everywhere, but few run after 10pm. Nearly all city buses start their route at the western end of Oliva and post their destinations in the front window.

Getting to Argentina

The San Ignacio de Ayolas bridge links Puerto Falcón with Clorinda in Argentina, and customs offices are found at either end. A local bus marked Falcón leaves hourly from Mercado Cuatro and passes the stop at Av República Argentina outside the Asunción bus terminal. The ferry crossing to Clorinda is not recommended for tourists.
