Sepik Natnat (Tok Pisin for mosquito) aren’t particularly big but can be numerous and vicious. They’re not a problem while on the river, but on the banks they can descend in hordes.
There are fewer mosquitoes in the June-to-October dry season, and they are less of a problem once you get up the tributaries, to higher altitudes and cooler weather.
