Getting there & away
There are no longer any scheduled flights to Wau although North Coast Aviation and Tropicair fly charters from Lae and Port Moresby to those who can afford it. Wau’s airstrip is one of the steepest in PNG, falling 91m in its 1km length.
PMVs to Lae (K12, three hours) leave Wau between 6am and 7am most days from Donna’s Stoa. They run via Bulolo (K7, two hours).
