I plan to travel to PNG at some stage 2017 with my wife and 2 kids (4 & 6 years of age).
We are seasoned travelers and love to get off the beaten track, however, will exercise caution in PNG for safety reasons.
Can anyone recommend an 'Island Paradise' with white sand beaches/turquoise water/good diving & fishing?? I have read about the Conflict Islands which look stunning (but difficult and expensive to access) and was wondering if something similar to the Conflicts exists in…
A friend and I will be in Tari for 5 nights this coming September before the Goroka Show and we're really struggling to find accomodation options. Ambua Lodge is way out of our league and although we've been in touch with Steve Wari of Warili Lodge, he stopped mailing us almost a month ago and it seems like he's dropped us. I've come across a couple of lodges mentioned in random birding blogs but can't find any online presence or email contact details for them. Eventually the Pacific Gardens…
Hello! I am planning to go with a company call Best of PNG for the Goroka Show this September and then Sepik River. The company is owned by an English guy. I already sent money and all that. But I cant find any reviews about the compnay on the internet. I think no news is good news, but I would like to know if anyone knows anytthing about the company reputation.
Thanks in advance
I am planning a trip to PNG in 2017 to do Black Cat Trek. Have been trekking in many regions in the world - Brazil(Amazon), Himalayas(climbing) - now want to visit PNG and see the jungle out there.
I will be traveling with a group of friends totaly 5 people.
Would appreciate if anyone could recommend some honest agency to work with regarding organizing permits, guide, porters, food, acommodation on the way.
I need the telephone number of Robert - the guy who runs a guesthouse on Yuo Island. I came across one while browsing the forums, but it seems it is not correct - +6757261483. I can`t get through. Robert has either changed the number or it is simply wrongly specified by someone in the forum.. Please help.
Thanks in advance
Hi, I am from Germany. I want to do a sepik river tour with my friend in September for 4 days from Pagwi. We would have not too much time. Our plan was:
01.09: Arriving in Wewak evening
02.09: PMV or bus to Pagwi (3 hours??)
03.09 river tour Korok (30 Minutes boat) further to Suapmeri (further 0,5 hours) night in Suapmeri
04.09 boat to yentchen (1,5h) and further Palambei.
06.09 Palambei back to Pagwi
07.09 PMV or bus to Wewak
You think that is a good trip and possible? Or do you…
does anybody know when exactly does the festival start and end (Friday evening or Saturday morning till Sunday afternoon)? And is it worth to stay both days or have you seen everything after one day?
Thanks a lot,
I’d like to share some information about my recent trip to PNG.
I had a 1-way ticket from Brisbane to Port Moresby and Quantas which operates the AirNiugini flights made me buy a refundable return ticket (90A$ fee). The man in charge was a real pain. It’s probably advisable to fly from Cairns where they have Airniugini staff.
I traveld alone, I am a woman and it has been ok. Apart from places like Port Moresby I felt safe and people were extremely friendly and welcoming
