My wife and I will be paying a fleeting visit to Milne Bay (one day in Alotau in a cruise ship) in June and are anxious to maximise the experience. Are there any individuals or companies offering tours in this area that you could recommend? If so I would greatly appreciate contact information
Our interest is largely in people, lifestyle and landscape rather that in recreational activities such as diving or swimming..
I understand that PNG Art on the Poreporena Freeway near Gordons has closed or relocated. Does anyone have any recent info on this? I'm visiting Port Moresby next week, nothing on the web about it, but if the shop is still trading am keen to visit ...

I am planning to go independently to Goroka show. Now trying to arrange accommodation for that time but so far……...still working on it. Maybe I will join a tour, since I already have some information from different companies. Also getting some help to arrange some homestay in Goroka. Still open…….
Right after I want to go to Newak for the sepik river including the Chambri lakes region. That for about 6 days. Arriving around Sept 20 or 21st to Newak. Anyone who is traveling in that direction…
I am looking for a local guide in Goroka for the Goroka Show. Does anyone recommend a local guide and perhaps a place for some home stay during the festival? As every single room is reserved by agencies in Goroka.
Like most on this site I typically travel independently. However, as a woman traveling alone in PNG I'm interested in hiring a tour operator to book and provide transportation for a 10 day trip to PNG next month. I want to visit a few coastal areas and do some diving. I still want to select my own itinerary and I'm fine to stay in safe/more expensive accommodation for this trip. Does anyone have tour operator recommendations?
We are 2 and want to visit goroka show at 16.09. - 19.09 at Goroka.
Someone can recommend a place to stay. Homestay is also fine for us. We are two backpacker - if you can say that for PNG - and looking for a payable place.
If you know a different sing sing dance show with not so many tourist and easier to stay and visit please tell me also so that we could maybe also change our travel dates. Best time for us is September and Octorber.
I am planning a month trip to PNG with my friend in August this year and while researching, I'm stumbling upon many safety alerts and even "High degree of caution" official advice at governments' websites, so I am starting to reconsider how safe it is for us both to travel alone.
I know it is not Bora Bora and that's exactly why I'm going, but I would also like to be realistic about the possible dangers among which apparently assault, rape, robbery, escalating conflicts between clans, etc seem…
