Tufi Dive Resort
Lonely Planet review
Located a short distance from the airstrip, this upmarket resort has a relaxed atmosphere, with pleasantly designed rooms, an airy bar and restaurant, and a cliffside barbecue area with spectacular views across the ria. Diving, fishing and cultural outings are the main attractions, and the resort encourages people to get into the local villages for an even more memorable stay. Wi-fi available (for the absurd price of K110 per day). Reserve well in advance.

Experience a boutique resort at backpacker prices, nestled on top of a Fiord with 180-degree panoramic views of the sea and the Fjord in the only fjords in Papua New Guinea. Tufi offers 24 hour reticulated power, all air-conditioned bungalows. Tufi not only offers pristine reefs and amazing underwater macro but we also offer a range of exciting adventure activities, with everything from bat caving to deep sea fishing, bush and nature walks where many species of birds are seen, kayaking as well as snorkeling trips for non-divers and overnight village stays.
Experience sun-filled days, a newly completed swimming pool and deck, magnificent views and all the creature comforts you would expect from a truly memorable holiday, a perfect peace, no traffic, no television, no newspapers, no pollution. A holiday that makes the outside world and all the daily stresses seem a million miles away in another time… A retreat to a place that lures people back time and time again for longer periods
Experience an unspoilt pristine paradise that offers good diving all year round. The fjordlands open onto pristine blue tropical waters of the coastline of Oro Province and Cape Nelson with many uncharted reefs, underwater WWII dive sites and stunning marine biodiversity. There is a ribbon reef system, not unlike the Barrier Reef in Australia, (nearest reef (excluding our famous House Reef which is 3 minutes from the resort) is only 15 minutes' boat trip away) running parallel to the shore. The reefs come up out of nowhere from a depth of around 600m, hence the unreal visibility. There is abundant fish life, with large schools of pelagics. Such as a variety of tuna, spanish mackerel, barracuda, white tip reef sharks and the uncommon white hammerhead sharks. Manta and Eagle Rays are often lazily cruising by. The adjacent mainland areas have a rich local cultural heritage and a scenic beauty that has to be seen to be believed. The best time is from October through mid-June for the really flat seas.
Experience where local tribal villages give visitors an insight into indigenous culture, through a range of specially designed cultural activities. Tufi offers a truly cultural experience that no other resort has to offer from outrigger safaris, treks to remote locations, to cultural shows and overnight stays in village guesthouses.
Experience the orchids, birds and butterflies of the rainforest and lowland areas through guided bushwalks and overnight treks that are as outrageously beautiful as the underwater scenery enjoyed by divers.
Experience - a tourist paradise just waiting to be explored
Experience -it all at TUFI.
