If you're traveling by motorbike through Panama and thinking about going to Colombia you can sail with the motorbike. I've met a guy that runs a travel agency and also organizes this trips with motorbikes. He's called Francesco and his agency is called Panamore you can find it on the web to contact him in advance.

Hi all.

As most of you probably know, chip credit cards are just being implemented in the US. And we do not use PIN and chip, we use chip and signature. After reading up on the system it seems like most of Europe uses PIN and chip but I can't find much on what Central America uses, specifically Panama and Costa Rica. I'm looking into getting a travel credit card with no foreign transaction fee for an upcoming trip to one of or possibly both of those countries and I'm wondering what the norm is.

Hello! I am traveling to Panama in a few weeks and was wondering if there is a shorter way from Santa Fe to Bocas del Toro than 8 hours? That is the route i found on the bus schedule online. It seems to be a round about way to go through Santiago then Chiriqui, but there didn't seem to be any other options...if anyone knows of another route available that would be quicker please let me know! 'Thanks!! Katie

Has anyone done this and if so, what was the result? I might take this option and work my way north before deciding from where to fly home.

Thanks,
Kendrick

I'm getting into Tocumen airport late at night and then getting the 6:30 plane to Bocas del Toro the next morning so I need somewhere to stay near Albrook airport for a few hours. Preferably somewhere not very expensive.

Also, how early should I be for the flight? What is the recommended time to get there for check in?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Hi,

I have a 13-plus hour layover at the airport in Panama.

Can those who know give me a recommendation for;

  1. A tolerable cheap hotel in Panama City to stay at for some of those hours,

  2. How to get to there and back to the airport in a timely manner, and,

  3. How much i can expect to spend?

Hi all, we have a one day layover in Panama City and we wanted to go to the Canal and then stay in a place not too far from the airport, but also where we can walk around and see a bit of the city and find a good vegetarian friendly place to eat. Any suggestions?

Got our rental at Alamo (cannot recommend them) and decided to choose for a basic sedan which worked out fine. No real need for a 4x4 as long as you stick to major roads.

The Interamericana (or Panamericana) is more or less under construction west of Panama City all the way to David. Close to P-city it can be a bit of a hassle but on the whole this is hardly a problem since there is not much traffic as you travel west. Even at places where only one lane remains, this will cause only minor…

Hello all!
My family (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby) have a 3-day layover in Panama City mid-March. We're thinking of spending one night on the beach. So far, our thoughts are to take the ferry to Isla Contadora and stay at the least expensive BnB.
Questions:
- I keep seeing Isla Contadora mentioned as a resort island for the wealthy. We're not really resort people. Should we look into another island, like Isla del Rey?
- What is the best island for snorkeling with the kids?
- Are there any locally-owned…
