My wife and I are planning a month long trip to Panama this coming July. We are thinking about doing one week in an all inclusive place followed by a week with my wife's grandmother's house in Penonome. For the last two weeks, I would like to rent a little house on the beach and relax. I would prefer to be in a town that has some bars and restaurants. I would also like to be near a beach with some decent swimming, we are not surfers so the huge waves are not for us. We also…
We have recently booked flights to Panama Dec 13-23... now to settle on actual locations! Excluding travel time we will be in the country for 9 days, so are considering locations that will best suit our interests while trying to limit travel time (however, likely will not choose to fly due to costs but we are considering).
Suggestions on itineraries/locations are much appreciated and welcomed..
Dec 13-arrive in PC around midnight - stay overnight
Dec 14-visit canal-aim to leave PC late…
I'm planning a two-week independent kayak expedition in Pamama in January (no worries, I have plenty of experience with long distance kayaking in Africa, the Amazon, the Pacific, etc.), and I am hesitating between Bocas del Toro and San Blas. When I read about San Blas in posts, etc. it definitely looks like the atmosphere I am looking for, less busy, less developed, etc. definitely moreso than Bocas, however it seems very hard if not illegal to travel independently there.
My question: can…
I'm new to posting in the forum but have read many past threads. My husband and I (mid-late-twenties) are planning our first trip to central america mid December 13-23 (dates not flexible due to our jobs). We know this is not enough time to really explore all CA has to offer so are wanting to optimize our time in a couple areas with minimal traveling time between locations. Feeling overwhelmed and more confused as ever in pinning down a spot as everything looks so awesome.
We just finish our trip in Panama, and we want to share with you one of our prefered place. This is an amazing little Bed and Breakfast, near the beach of Santa Clara in the Pacific coast.
First of all, the beach is gorgeous and very quiet in the week.
Villa Botero By Casa Mojito is the name of the place. The owners are french and we really loved the breakfast with fresh bread, croissants, muffins... All home made !
The rooms are large, with all comfort.
It's really a great place to rest.
Okay, anybody know the work around on the difficulty apparently of getting to Casco Viego area from the Tocumen Intl airport. by bus? Just arriving I won't have chipcard but need one to get a bus....crazy sounding but I guess supported by the taxi drivers...lol. Obviously getting back to the airport to leave should be easier.
Anybody have any ideas on how to use the bus and save the $$?
"If you come in from TOCUMEN INTERNATIONAL Airport, it is a little bit more difficult. You get on the…
Still searching for the phantom ferry between panama and colombia....I UNDERSTAND the hype about a new ferry service that is being touted ... and i´ll believe it when i see it
MY QUESTION IS....has there ever been one over the past 2 decades. Not looking for heresay...but positive personal use of such a scheduled car and or passenger ferry service between the two countries.
Again I´m sceptical but met a guy the other day that said he was on one in the mid 2000s....I THINK he was a dreamer as…
Traveling for a week in mid November... looking to stay more or less in one place. Hoping to minimize time wasted on travel although don't mind a bit of a trek to and from airport each way. Only requirements are a great beach and some hammocks. Have travelled lots but never in central america - really don't need anywhere fancy, just relatively clean with a good vibe (although hopefully not full on spring break-esque party scene). Would be ideal to surf a bit but not a must. Torn between Panama,…
hi, just realised that our first visit to panama might not have the best timing as we are arriving at the airport in the eve of november 2nd. is it advisable to stay out of panama city during the following days because of the celebrations? or will it be the same all over the country? nothing against national hols, but to start with and after a long transatlantic flight it might be a bit too much... do you have any advice of where it would be best to stay the first couple of nights?
would be glad if you could aid in finding a beach area in Panama that can fit our needs and budget. Particular accomodation reccomodations/contacts even better. Everyone seems to suggest Bocas but not sure if it fits our budget or if there are other places that could be better/cheaper. A white sand beach would be great.
In April i'd to settle somewhere from 3-5weeks(depending on the budget) by the beach with my gf, so that we can relax,do digital global-job hunt, write a blog, enjoy the…
