Hi! My girlfriend and I are thinking of going to Panama at the end of July. We are 36 and 37 years old elementary school teachers/realtor/avid gardeners, speak Spanish and don't know much about Panama. We are not fans of paying money to be dragged around everywhere on tours. We do like camping, biking (bicycle)hiking, latin dancing, meeting friendly locals, exploring nature and wildlife, meeting people from indigenous cultures, etc. We can do cheap lodging as long as it's not dangerous. Any…
Hey! I'm traveling to Bocas del Toro this summer and am also trying to squeeze in some time in Boquete. I'll be in Bocas del Toro for about 5 days and wanted to split the time in both places if that's possible. From what I read it doesn't seem longer than just a 5 hour trip from Bocas to Boquete so I thought this plan was totally doable. I just don't know what are the exact routes and transportation that is used. If anyone has done this trip any input would be great. What shuttle you used, how…
Me and my girlfriend are traveling to Cambutal end of august and first half of september. We like to do some exploring with 4x4 and maybe even camp out for a night. If someone did this can you tell me how about safety in that region, if 'wild' camping is allowed or advisable? And if it's feasible getting around with 4x4. Love to hear your experiences!

I'd appreciate advice on two weeks itinerary in early December (Nov 30 - Dec 14). I'm going there with my girlfriend who doesn't need to see any of the historical site. She's more like nature lover.
As I've mentioned above we're going for two weeks and so far have only three main places we definitely want to visit:
We're thinking of 3-4 days on San Blas Islands. The rest we don't know and will leave it on suggestions/advices.
I'm staying in Panama City for a few days in May and I've narrowed my choice of accommodation down to Hospedale Casco Viejo or Malmallena Hostel. Anyone stayed at both (or either) recently and able to offer an opinion?
Hello - we want to visit Soberania for some hiking but the tours look too expensive and we're on a budget. I am reading that there are good marked trails. Has anyone done this independently? Can we take the bus there and back from Panama city? Any safety concerns? Any transportation advice would be appreciated. We are visiting in a couple of weeks.
