Lonely Planet review for Central Library

Next door to the Bahawalpur Museum, this fine building houses a well-stocked Central Library. The foundation stone was laid by the then viceroy, Sir Rufus Daniel Isaacs, in 1924. The garden is very restful.

    One of the Oldest & Best in Pakistan - & Peaceful...

    Established in Pre-Partition times, this is one of the best libraries in Pakistan & is located next to Bahawalpur Museum. Contains, apart from books, some very old scripts & writings relating to famous people, like the pieces of writings by Hazrat Imam Hussein (RA) & other famous writers/authors.

    Peaceful & if you have time so you should just visit it.
