I don't have a question, but wanted to offer advice to people considering K2 base Camp Concordia trek, based on my experience of being on the trail last month. We are very thankful for this great travel planning resource and hope this report provides some guidance to those planning on travelling this region.
We are really glad that we trained – did a lot of day hikes that involved climbing and descending, and an overnight back-packing trip that had us hiking for 16 days straight. The ascents…

Hi,

I'm a UK passport holder. Three years ago I got a single entry visa valid for entry for 6 months from the issue date, 90 days stay, from the Bradford consulate. I didn't ask for it, and didn't need such generous conditions.

Has anyone recently got a visa like this (valid for entry up to 6 months)? I understand 3 months is more common. I know I could try calling Gerry's visa services who handle the UK applications now but from my previous experience trying to speak to a person at…

Hi, I'm planning a trip to India and interested in starting out in Islamabad and crossing into India at Kohala. Any US citizens with experience doing this? Aware this is not the safest part of the world. Thanks.

Hello everybody!
We crossed Iran and Pakistan on our way to India following the classical overland rute and we created a blog telling all the crazy stories that happened to us on the road. Most of the time we were hithhiking and sleeping in a tent.We covered most of the places in Pakistan including Baluchistan , Punjab , Islamabad, Gilgit and Skardu which was really unforgetable. I'll be crossing at Wagah in late July. Wondering about money changing options for USD to PKR. I've heard it's illegal to spend dollars in Pakistan, but I don't really see anything on the internet confirming that. Are there places at Wagah crossing to change US dollars to Pak rupees? Thanks for insights.

Hi there,

I've been riding my motorbike from Hanoi and am currently in Bangladesh. I'd love to make it all the way to Europe. I would love to go through India> Pakistan> (Afghanistan/Tajikistan)> The smaller Stans> Kazakhstan> Russia > Europe.

And well, the big unknown is how I could pull off the Pakistan to Tajikistan part? I would love to drive through Afghanistan but the closer I get the more I begin to face reality and wonder how (if) I could pull it off with any relative safety…
