I am trying to prepare my overland crossing of Pakistan by bicycle from India (Wagah) to Iran (Taftan), passing through Lahore and Quetta. I read in this forum that tour operators need one's itinary program day by day (supposed to be real one and not fake) to issue an LOI. Is it accurate ? I also heard that it is not a good idea to mention that you wish to cycle across the country specially towards Quetta. So, what do you advise me to put down on that itinary letter ? Obliged to make it fake…
I am planning to travel to Pakistan this late May, for about 15 days. Arriving in Lahore and flying back from Islamabad.
My plans are using local transportation, buses, shared taxis/jeeps, etc. But I don't know if it is feasible for some parts of this itinerary idea:
bus to Islamabad
bus to Peshawar
bus to Chitral in the same day? Or stopover somewhere?
bus to Gilgit via Shandur in the same day? Or stopover somewhere?
bus back to Islamabad through the KKH
In addition, any special…
My wife and I are American and need to apply in Los Angeles. We plan to cross from India and spend a few days in Lahore. Can someone suggest a reliable company to arrange the LOI?
Does anyone have recent experience using the LA Consulate?
Any thoughts/comments using Lost Horizons, Caravanistan or www.thebrokebackpacker.com?
Someone mentioned here a year or so ago that Lost Horizons LOI was not accepted in Houston I think.
Would it be okay to write Taftan as entry point in an application form for Pakistan visa? Can the embassy refuse me in getting a visa because of this? Would it be better if I'll have just an iranian visa and a flight booking like Tehran-Karachi, would it be okay?
I'm just wondering what other experiences Americans have had in obtaining a Pakistani visa. I first applied ONE year ago and the application was sent to Islamabad and only in February of this year was I told that I needed to Re-send my application and another set of photos. But I didn't have to pay a second fee....yay. I am dealing with the Houston consulate. They re-send my second application to Islamabad. Have other Americans had a difficulty in getting the visa? Time frames? Thanks to all in…
Hello - I recently had the honor and joy of marrying a wonderful Pakistani lady. Prior to our Nikah, I requested a tourist visa for Pakistan which was eventually regretted (no reason given) while we were waiting for her Advance Parole decision. She came to the US on a K-1 visa. I am a white Muslim convert for informational purposes.
We have hopes of visiting Pakistan in December with our first child, installah. We also have long term hopes of residing there within the next 15 years. What…
I will be traveling to Pakistan next month. I am currently in Israel and my flight to Karachi leaves from Jordan.
I will enter in Jordan overland, so I will have a Jordanian stamp which shows evidence that I was in Israel.
I have read in Wikitravel that an Israeli stamp is not an issue for entering to Israel but I want to make sure. Does anyone know if this is true?
I would like to know when the Khunjerab Pass will reopen for border crossing this year. Some said that it will reopen on 1 April while some said 1 May. I am confused. Thank you very much.
