Hi everybody, we are going to visit Hunza Valley in the second half of August, and I was wondering how to deal with hotels. I don't find almost anything on the popular sites like booking.com, in these cases usually I would say that I'll just go there and go to the first hotel I find; but on the other side, I read that it's high season there and there are a lot of local tourists, so hotels might be full when I arrive.

Do you have any suggestions / numbers of hotels for a phone reservation maybe?

Hi everyone,

I will be in Pakistan from the 29th of July until the 12th of August for two weeks. I will fly into Islamabad and would like to rent a small car or motorbike to do a road trip up the Karakoram Highway, across to Skardu and back to Islamabad. I am an experienced adventure traveler in my early 30s and have spent time in Afghanistan and Iran so I am very aware of the culture and customs in the region.

  1. Can anyone recommend a reputable car rental agency? Or somewhere to get a…

Hello. My husband has a visa interview scheduled for Islamabad at the American Embassy there on August 29th. I would like to know which hotel is cheap/affordable but decent to stay at near/close to american embassy in Islamabad? He is working on a budget and does not want to drift far away from the embassy it self so if you can kindly suggest what is the best affordable price and place.. please do so.

Thanks a lot. Appreciate it if anyone can help.

Hi everybody,
I am planning a short visit to Pakistan (9/10 days in all) in September, and I would like to visit Islamabad, Lahore and, yes, Peshawar. Of course I do know that all of Pakistan is somehow risky for westerners (I am Italian), but I have also read that safety has significanly improved in the last months/year.
Can anybody give me advice on Peshawar? Would it be too risky to go there as a "normal" tourist (getting there by train/bus from Islamabad, taking a room, doing some siteseeing…

Hello All -

I'm considering a trek to k2 base camp later this summer and was hoping you could answer a few questions. Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated.

1) About how many people trek to K2 Base Camp every year?

2) What level of fitness is required to make this trek? I am in my late 20s, decent physical shape, but no trekking experience whatsoever. Will I be able to do this or will it be too challenging?

3) How safe is it for an American to travel to these areas of Pakistan…

Hi

This may be a somewhat dumb / vague question, but I still hope to get some feedback, just to have an idea.

I am planning to go on a trekking trip to Baltoro with a local agency. My idea is to do then some individual travel as well, e.g. from Islamabad to Abottabad or something else. As there are not really any uptodate guidebooks around (and I currently don't have access to the existing older ones either), I don't have a clear idea yet what is possible. So could somebody please give me some…

Dear All,

I have started reviewing the Pakistan visa application, and I saw it asks what is your religion. I am curious what people's experiences have been applying for the visa answering Christian, Jewish, and just leaving it blank (or perhaps atheist?). I would rather not give away my religion online, indeed, I am barely practicing, but would like to know if answering one of these would cause problems.

Dear all,

After all difficulties, I finally managed to obtain a visa for Pakistan after the third try! So far it was the most difficult one to get and I am really hoping that it will be worth the efforts so consequently, the expectations are quite high.

There are several fields in which I am especially interested such as Sufism, Truck art, traditional sports, etc, that I am planning to explore during the visit. However, the information is scarce so I would really appreciate for additional info…
