Forty minutes west of Seeb International Airport, Sawadi Resort makes a tranquil alternative to city accommodation. With bungalow-style rooms set in attractive landscaped gardens, and a variety of water sports, snorkelling and diving on offer, many visitors find they never make it beyond the hotel's limitless beaches.
Imagine a beach peppered with pink shells, a calm sea floating with turtles and a garden redolent with Rangoon creeper and summer jasmine. This is the idyllic landscape in which the Sawadi Beach Resort is situated. With a cool lager under a palm tree, brought personally by the delightful staff, it is hard to find the energy to do much more than enjoy the holiday atmosphere and browse the buffet of an evening. Most rooms are chalet style with glass doors opening discreetly onto the lawns. Barbeques can be hired from reception. As a highly popular retreat for citizens of Muscat, you may have to share the amenities with bonding buddies on the annual office picnic. Don't panic, though - there are still plenty of places to retreat from the partying.
