Flying in and out of norway at end of august-
We want to do Norway in a nutshell, Trolltunga hike, Bergen, Geirenger and Alsend.
What is the best way to do this? We can rent a car if necessary.
Me and my girlfriend (active and outdoors people 30yr) are going to be in Norway for 7 days in the end of August. We arrive and depart out of Norway. Highlights of what we want to do on the trip include, trolltunga hike, alesund, geiranger, Bergen and pulpit rock. Is it possible to do all of this?Any suggestions for the best way to do this? Rent a car or public transportation? Do the Norway in a nutshell? Thanks for help!
So we're doing a nine day Oslo-Bergen roadtrip and and thinking of doing the below.
Day 1 Arr Oslo
Day 2 Explore Oslo
Day 3 Drive to Jotunheimen
Day 4 Explore Jotunheimen
Day 5 Drive to Geirangerfjord
Day 6 Explore Geirangerfjord
Day 7 Drive to Bergen
Day 8 Explore Bergen
Day 9 Dep Bergen
Is this crazy? Most people seem to do the classic Oslo-Flam-Voss-Bergen route but everything i hear about Jotunheimen and Geirangerfjord is amazing. Is it possible to do this route or is I am being far too ambitious…
I'm flying to Bergen in a few weeks, hoping to see a bit of beautiful Norway on a budget! On my first day I will explore Bergen, and then I'm looking at getting the train to Flåm and then a ferry to Gudvangen on my second day (Monday), after that I have two days (Tues/Wednesday) where I'm hoping to see Undredal and possibly end up in Aurland before getting the train back from Flåm to Oslo on the thursday, and fly out of Oslo on Friday, but essentially I want to spend time in nature, hike…
I bought a ferry ticket with Colorline to travel from Hirtshals, Denmark to Larvik, Norway (and back) but have now had to cancel my trip. Is anyone aware of a place or way to resell the ticket? It is a non-refundable with the company but I could change the names and car details legitimately.
Thanks so much in advance.
I am going to be in Svalbard next week. Among other things I would like to go on a boat trip to Pyramiden. I would like people's opinions on whether the full day, slow boat trip is better than the half day, fast catamaran. I figure if I did the half day one then I can fit in a half day trip to Barentsburg. I have only four full days so the others will be filled with kayaking and hiking.
Many thanks in advance,
My family and I would like to see the Northern Lights next winter. Which country would be the better place to see them, Finland or Norway? And while I realize the lights are unpredictable, when would be the best time during winter to catch a glimpse of them? Thanks!
I am looking for bus timetables from rjukan to oslo in july. I can only find 2 buses a day in the afternoon. is this right? Is it not possible to get a bus in the morning? thanks
Hi Guys.. What's the best (cheapest and easiest) way to get from Gardermoen airport to central station? Can we just buy tickets at the airport? Thanks
We are a couple in our early 30s and will be in Norway for 10 days in June. We are focused on seeing Norway's natural beauty and spending time outdoors.
We'd like to see Lofoten, hike in Jotunheimen, and visit the fjords to the west, but wonder whether that will be too rushed and we should pick two of the three areas instead.
1) Should we pick 2 of 3? If so, which 2 are the best choice? Are two areas (e.g. Jotunheimen and west fjords) more similar, so that we would get more variety…
