  1. A

    Biffhuset

On two floors, wood-panelled and low-beamed, the Beef House is a seriously meaty place, strictly for ardent carnivores. Just tick/check your menu card, indicating size, cut and accompanying sauce, hand it to the server and sit back.

  2. Oksen Ferdinand

You can eat very well indeed at Oksen Ferdinand steakhouse, inside or on the terrace overlooking the street. Also a historic building, it does tasty sandwiches and snacks (Nkr90 to Nkr135), too.

  3. Perrongen Steak House

This place, in the Quality Oppdal Hotel, has the best food and the most sophistication of any place in town. Reindeer steak goes for Nkr255.

This steakhouse, all dark wood and grey flagstones, is the place if you’re after something red and raw.
