Lonely Planet review for Hotel Havana

International deli with everything from French cheese to Belgian chocolates. The chorizo and manchego sandwiches (Nkr55) are an especially good bet.

    Mmmmm!

    frk_line_m recommends this,

After traveling in Asia for 6 months, when thinking of home, the food at Hotel Havana is what I miss the most. Their sandwiches! (Ask for bread from Apent Bakeri) Whith homemade pesto, or sundriedomatopaste, tallegio, manchego, chevre, munster, gorgonzola... They are huge and will only set you back 6eur/8usd/50nok (Oct.2008) - wich is nothing! Cheapest, biggest and best sandwiches around. The place has only 4 seats by the window, so take away is recomended. They can also make you a cheese and ass. sossagees etc. platter. Pick and choose for a picknick at Olaf Ryes Plass. Makes very good potatosalad in summerseason.
Cheese, fish and meat are not cheap here, but worth it. The wine monopoly down in Markveien closes at 17.00 (sat?/sun closed) Sells ass. chilled bubbels and white wine.
