We are planning to spend 9 days in Lofoten in July. I have a few questions:
1. Is it risky to arrive in Lofoten in mid July without having booked all nights? We are looking for medium range hotels/cabins but we do not have an itinerary.
2. We are plannig to rent a car for a few days, probably in Svolvaer. Should we book in advance or we can find a car rental ad hoc? any advice about cheap car rentals?
3. How easy is driving in Lofoten? Should we book an accomodation for a week somewhere…
I'm a young french backpacker. For the moment, I don't know exactly how i will proceed but all i know is that I am only interested in Fauna, Flora & landscapes^^

Myself and 4 friends (all late 20's) will be heading to Bergen next weekend. We were initially planning a night out on the Friday and then a few days Hiking around the area. Its looking pretty cold now and I was wondering is hiking still possible?
Also should be chose not to hike for 3 days what other activities can we do?
So we are a young couple travelling with our parents aged 70 avg. to Norway around mid July. We are thinking of an itinerary as follows-
Day 1 - arrive in Oslo. Do some local sightseeing and spend the night there.
Day 2 - train to Bergen or car to Bergen ? I've been thinking of the train journey to Bergen and doing flam, gudvangen and voss on the way to Bergen. Is this possible in a day ? Or should we reach Bergen and then do these 3 by car the day we start our journey up north…
Hi, Last minute we decided to take a Norway holiday for the last week of May, so I'm trying to figure out itinerary and book everything ASAP. We are a couple in ours late 20's and very active.
So far I have planned everything except for the Fjord part, Ive read a lot and everything looks beautiful which makes it difficult to choose from. So far this is what I have:
Myself and a friend are planning to hike Trolltunga in June, giving ourselves 5 days to do the whole trip. We will be taking a train from Bergen to Voss, then cycling for the ferry to Utne, then following the 550 road to Odda, then the 13 road to Tyssedal, before going to Skjeggedal to start the Trolltunga hike.
I was hoping that someone may be able to answer a few questions for me though:
1) How do we get to the start point at Skjeggedal? The road isn't on Google maps. Is it…
If not, could you schedule longer stops at some locations at the time of purchase?
Or would you just need to buy a series of one-way tickets?
Appreciate any insight. Thanks.
My 2 friends and I plan to travel to Norway next February 2016. These are the activities we want to do and are wondering where to base ourselves-Northern Norway Im assuming but which city/town?As we wont have a car ourselves,we need a base where we can easily do tours from.
Dog sled ride,Reindeer ride,Northern lights tour(will be lucky to see these I know..),snowmobile & either stay in an ice hotel or visit one or an Ice/Snow bar.
Any reliable tour operators recommended that we should book…
