My wife and 2 college daughters are going to me in Norway for 7-10 days in August and we are flying into Bergen and leaving out of Oslo. We want to go to Fjords ( Gerainger), Stavanger, Alesund, Balestrand, Lofoten Islands and maybe Trondheim. We are wondering if we should make Bergen our home base or will that be too much ground to cover in 7-10 days? Any suggestions? Thanks, Glenn
I will fly to Trondheim on the first of July. I would love to see Andelsnes, Geiranger, Aurland/Flam and Eijdfjord and surroundings and end in Bergen. I will have about 10 days to cover this. Trying to plan this with public transport is really not easy. I could get to Geiranger via Andelsnes, but how to continue to the Aurland/Flam area? Flag down campervans/cars and try to hitch a ride? Or talk to people while camping in the Geiranger area, to see if they are going south. Anyone has…
Hello all! My husband and I will be flying into Oslo next summer in either June 2017 or August 2017 and we'll be in Norway for 8 full days. We will likely use some variation of the NIN tours (The original tour combined with 'Hardangerfjord in a nutshell & Rosendal' for instance).
I'm interested in seeing three main things: 1) Hiking Trolltunga (I know it's difficult and will be using a guided group), 2) Glacier tour, 3) Boating through a fjord.
Is this reasonable for 8 days (I don't mind it…
We're a groupe of 4 adults that will travel Norway in August.
We wanted to know if our itinerary was doable :
August 9th : arrival in Bergen from Montreal, Canada in early morning. Spend the rest of the day in the city and sleep there.
10 th : Rent a car and drive early morning to gudvangen, take the ferry to Flam and then go to Stegastein and finish in Fossbergom (sleep there).
11 th : Go to Gjendesheim and do the 'Bessegen ridge' trail one-day hike and take the ferry back and go back…
I have a two weeks holiday, and I am ready to skip one week of the school if I need.(I can feel the breeze)
I love cold. I won't mind extreme cold. I want to see the Northern Lights more than anything.
My questions are:
1-How many days should I spend in Oslo, Bergen, Tromso and Svalbard?
2-Do you recommend going to Stockholm? If so, how many days should I spend there?
3-Do you recommend tent camping in winter?
4-How much would I spend for food a day?
5-What can I do in Svalbard in…
I'm going to norway this summer with 4 friends (5 in total).
We already rented a car and we want to explore the country by car. We also want to try wild camping as much as possible but I wasn't able to find clear regulations about what you can and can't do. (Besides staying outside 150 off people's property) I've made a list of questions about things we want to do but are unsure if possible.
Can we camp in the wild with a car next to it? (Ofcourse outside 150 meters of someone's land)
So my fiancee and I are planning a trip to Norway, we're thinking sometime in August or September.
We really only have a week, which yes I know is short, but I want to see what we can. I've always wanted to go to Norway, it's the last piece of my heritage I haven't gotten to see.
I know everyone and there mother does the Norway in a Nutshell tour, but I'm really not sure that's for us, at least not the itineraries I've seen. Several also seem to involve getting a car to drive up north, and…
We, a 30 year old couple, are visiting Norway from half Juli till first week of August (3 weeks).
We have a car and are now in doubt if we should do single day hikes (use a basecamp) or travel light and go for multiple day hike to sleep at more remote places. If we do single day treks we have to pitch the tent close to the car, because we take some more heavy duty camping gear..
The parks we are currently planning to visit are:
The question is if we can park the…
I'll be in Oslo this summer, and want to see the fjords this time. I was considering the Norway in a Nutshell tour but have heard that it is a bit touristy and there are better options. Are there other options for one or two days (from Oslo)?
