We will be in Svalbard in August from early afternoon Sunday until Wednesday morning. We want to make the most of the time. We looked at a number of day / evening trips and considered kayaking , glacier and mining village trips. These all seem quite close to the centre. Is there a ay to see more of the area without doing an overnight trip. We have already booked our accommodation. Thanks
Hi there! I'd like some advice on the following subject:
My girlfriend and I will spend some time in Bergen and around before arriving in Stavanger on the evening of July 2. We'll have our own car and a tent.
July 2, 7PM: arrival Stavanger
July 3: Preikestolen
July 4: Kjerag
July 5, 8PM: departure to Hirtshals
Our original plan was to do Preikestolen on the 3rd and come back down the same day, take the 9AM (or 3PM?) ferry to Lysebotn on the next day, go up to Kjerag, put our tent up there and…
Planning a self drive trip of Norway, what's the best I can achieve in 5 days?
Want to drive from Kristiansund to Oslo by road via The Atlantic Road covering molde,Alesund , Bergen, Hallingdal.
On the end of august me and some friends are flying to Tromso to start a 17 day roadtrip that will end back in Tromso. At this moment, we don't have specific things we want to see, except North Cape. The main reason we didn't plan anything is that we don't know how long it will take to travel. They say driving in Norway isn't that fast ..
Is it possible to go from Tromso to North Cape, to Bodo and back to Tromso in 17 days? Also, what are the places we definitely need to visit?
I'm 23 years old girl traveling solo to Lofoten for 5 days from 1-6 July, Looking forward to find people to spend time with and explore the islands together !

My wife and 2 college daughters are going to me in Norway for 7-10 days in August and we are flying into Bergen and leaving out of Oslo. We want to go to Fjords ( Gerainger), Stavanger, Alesund, Balestrand, Lofoten Islands and maybe Trondheim. We are wondering if we should make Bergen our home base or will that be too much ground to cover in 7-10 days? Any suggestions? Thanks, Glenn
I will fly to Trondheim on the first of July. I would love to see Andelsnes, Geiranger, Aurland/Flam and Eijdfjord and surroundings and end in Bergen. I will have about 10 days to cover this. Trying to plan this with public transport is really not easy. I could get to Geiranger via Andelsnes, but how to continue to the Aurland/Flam area? Flag down campervans/cars and try to hitch a ride? Or talk to people while camping in the Geiranger area, to see if they are going south. Anyone has…
Hello all! My husband and I will be flying into Oslo next summer in either June 2017 or August 2017 and we'll be in Norway for 8 full days. We will likely use some variation of the NIN tours (The original tour combined with 'Hardangerfjord in a nutshell & Rosendal' for instance).
I'm interested in seeing three main things: 1) Hiking Trolltunga (I know it's difficult and will be using a guided group), 2) Glacier tour, 3) Boating through a fjord.
Is this reasonable for 8 days (I don't mind it…
