Paekdusan is only accessible from around late June to mid-September; at all other times it is forbiddingly cold and stormy. Access to the mountain is by air only, followed by car. There are charter flights available that can hold up to 30 people, for €4600 per round-trip flight. At €150 per person that isn’t unreasonable, but it’s a bit much for a solo trip. Unfortunately, this flight is currently the only transport offered to Paekdusan.
