Rich-feeling and oh-so-dark, Bibo feels like a smooth cabernet. Tapas and wines by the glass are the stars; opt for the locally sourced charcuterie plate. DJs spin till midnight on weekends.

Segovia
Winnipeg's restaurant of the moment is a tapas place as authentic as the house-made aioli. Set in a stylishly renovated old home in a quiet spot just off noisy Osborne St, Segovia has a long list of wines and cocktails you can savor on the patio while enjoying – and sharing – exquisite little dishes.

La Bodega
The three-level patio here wraps around a huge old tree like a treehouse. Sharing little plates of food and good wine amidst twinkling lights is the peak of Regina romance. In winter, there's a beautiful backlit ice bar carved outside.

Cyprus Cafe
Nothing says summer like live jazz on the patio at this little Mediterranean cafe, a favorite of the foodie press. Quality ingredients include locally raised vegetables, wild seafood and natural meats. Favorites include warm duck salad with green olives, oranges and spinach and the Colorado trout with quinoa pilaf. For smaller bites, check out Eno, their wine and coffee bar next door.

Restaurant Marrakesh
Sparkling belly dancers shimmer and shake past the massive pillars and around the tables of the Sultan's Palace, magnificently decorated with mosaic tiles, rich velvets and sparkling gold. While the lamb kebabs, vegetable couscous and other basics are disappointing, the windowless elegance is a fun escape from the searing sun and kids love to join in the dancing.

Citrico's
An extensive wine list and handsome northern California ambience set this low-key spot apart from other Disney restaurants; it falls between the hectic family style and self-consciously upscale style, and serves up tasty and fresh eclectic fare. Try for a window seat, with views of Seven Seas Lagoon.
