Fish & Chip restaurants in North America

  1. A

    Lahaina Fish Co

Sit on the deck above crashing waves and enjoy some of Lahaina's freshest fish. And there's no slack on the serving size either - so it's little wonder this place packs a crowd. Lots of fish preparations to choose from, but if you want to walk away with the best value, order the fish-and-chips for just $13. Come early for a good table at sunset.

  2. B

    Fish & Poi

Teak furnishings and a view of a koi pond set the mood. Hawaiian comfort food goes upscale here with crab cakes in mango dipping sauce, tempura-style fish-and-chips and chicken-papaya salad. Kids will like the na keiki menu of burgers and grilled cheese, and parents will like the price (from $3).

  3. C

    Troller's Fish & Chips

Nothing beats the ambience of Troller's when it comes to grubbing on some fish and chips. This shack on the docks at the boat basin always cooks the fresh catch of the day, selecting its prawns and salmon straight from the boats in the harbor. It's also a good spot to watch the maritime world float by.

  4. D

    Alexander's

The place for fish-and-chips, made with your choice of mahimahi, 'ahi or ono (wahoo). The fried fare is a bit greasy but the grilled fish is absolute perfection. The food is prepared for takeout, or eat at the picnic tables at the side.

  5. E

    Salty's Beachouse Seafood Restaurant

The open-air seafood joint at the fun end of Okanagan Beach. If it swims it's liable to be deep-fried here and served with chips and a cold beer. Make that several cold beers.

  6. Newes from America

One of the oldest buildings in town, this dark, cozy place dishes up large portions of good pub grub. The fish and chips are made with fresh catch - wash them down with a good ale.

  7. Crab Cooker

Expect a wait at this always-busy fish joint, which serves great seafood and fresh crab on paper plates to an always-appreciative crowd in flip-flops and jeans. Good chowder too.

  8. F

    Cap'n Flint's

For fried fish, coleslaw and fries, skip the pricy Wharf restaurant and head next door to Cap'n Flint's where you will get (nearly) the same food for half the price.

    Sharon's by the Sea

Of all Noyo Harbor's seafood joints, Chapter & Moon is best, then Sharon's by the Sea, a pretty little dockside fish grotto with picnic tables outside.
