Six Arms Pub & Brewery
One of the classiest of the McMenamins outposts, the Six Arms has lived-in booths and couches upstairs, tons of antique chandeliers and an elaborate pipe sculpture surrounding the bar. McMenamins’ Terminator is a decent stout, and Hammerhead is a perennial favorite.

Brooklyn Brewery
Harkening back to a time when this area of New York was a beer brewing center, the Brooklyn Brewery not only brews and serves tasty local suds, but offers tours of their facilities on weekends. For those who want to quaff while waiting for their 30-min tour to begin, there is a selection of brews on tap (from $4).
Interesting fact: the brewery’s cursive logo was designed by none other than Milton Glazer, of ‘I Heart New York’ fame, who did the job in exchange for a share of the profits and free beer for life.
