Where do i get a bus after crossing the border and where does it take me to and what is the next from there and so on stop and so on till Lagos. Also how much is the entire trip going to cost me. Thanks advance.
I intend to make a trip to Nigeria later this year. I want to include an overland trip from Kano to Abuja via Zaria and Kaduna. Does anyone have recent travel experience in the North ? in particular in relation to safety and security issues ?
After doing a bit of reading online, it appears that 1 USD can be equivalent from 200-360 Naira, depending on how it's exchanged. What/where do you recommending changing USD to Naira with the best rate? I assume LOS airport wouldn't be the best place ...
I am planning to get the ABC coach from Lagos to Accra in a few weeks but can't find confirmed info on whether I can get transit visas for Benin and Togo on the borders or not, or do I need to get each visa ahead of time in Lagos?
Any other tips for this journey would be welcome
Later this year I intend to make a trip to Nigeria. To avoid hassle and to have beter access to places which you usually cannot reach I would like to do this trip with a local guide. Does any have (positive) experience with local touroperators who can assist me in organizing this trip ? I intend to visit Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Calabar (and surrounding area).
I am looking for some recent information on obtaining a Nigerian visa anywhere between Ghana and Nigeria. It's not actually for me, but my girlfriend (EU citizen). I am getting my Nigerian visa in Bamako, Mali, however she is flying down to Ghana to meet me and overland to South Africa with me. I need to find a place that will issue the Nigerian visa, if anyone has had any success lately please let me know. I've heard Cotonou in Benin, but also haven't seen any recent info.
Nigerian visa can be a tough one to get. I thought I was all set until I had a very unpleasant surprise leaving across land border to Cameroon.... Hopefully this story will help save someone else some hassle. I wouldn't want to wish this situation on anyone...
Got 10 day transit visa in Niamey (US passport, not a resident in Niger). Entered from Porto Novo, Benin to Lagos. On 8th day in Nigeria I got up early in Calabar and took 4+ hour trip by local transportation up to Ikom to cross into…
I was born close to Zaria in 1970 and but then moved to the states with parents (parents both from the US). My father and I would love to visit Zaria and Samaru and the surrounding cities but are nervous about all the travel warnings we read about. What is the safest way to travel in those areas? Just the two of us and a guide or is a small group a better way to go? Or should we really not visit at this point in time? We'd probably visit during the dry season. Thanks in advance for responding :)…
