What is the safety situation in Lagos these days? I have a hotel on Victoria Island. Can I walk alone during the day with a camera there? I have a guide for another two days for Lagos Island so then I should be ok. Or should I leave my camera at the hotel? Is driving to the airport from the city centre ok?
What about the Cotonou to Lagos road?
I (German) am planning to travel to Nigeria in a few months. I can get all the needed documents to obtain a visa except for the invitation letter, since I don't know anyone in Nigeria.
I have inquired at my consulate and they told me that an invitation letter is mandatory.
Does anyone here know how to get such a letter? Are there agencies for that in Europe/Nigeria? Do you know Hotels that can provide such a letter?
I will be flying in to Lagos on a Sunday at 12.15pm, and I am trying to get to Warri as soon as possible.
I found out there are flights by Arik Air but none that leaves in the afternoon.
And it seems like Aero used to fly there but no flights to Warri mentioned on their schedule anymore.
So I am looking into buses... since we might have to wait until the next day to catch a flight, might as well try to save some money? It seems ABC Transport has a Lagos-Warri route but I can't find…
Looks like I am headed out to Port Harcourt for a week or two to give some training. I've not been in Nigeria since about 2008, so I'm a bit leary to travel there with the current issues with the government, but I have a job to do and shouldn't avoid it.
Has anyone been in Lagos or Port Harcourt fairly recently and can advise on safety etc. (I am aware of the Ebola obviously.) And is there a Mr. Biggs in Port Harcourt? I miss Mr. Biggs.
Am a UK citizen thinking of flying from London to Lagos, then onto Lome in Togo with ASKY airlines. Flights are around 3 or 4 hours apart, which means staying in Lagos airport only a few hours. Both sets of flights arrive and depart in the same (International) terminal.
Do I need an airside transit visa to do this? Nigeria High Commission website mentions an 'airside transit visa.' Other visa checker sites say 'no visa required for transits of less than 24 hours.'
I'm aware that…

I wonder what will happen now in Nigeria - heard that there will be presidential elections after the New Year and already now is starting to be a little "boiling" etc. And that Boko Haram wants to get through a Muslim president, otherwise there will be "no, no"
Know someone a little more about this?
