Lonely Planet review for Eleko Beach
The new favourite with fashionable Lagosians is Eleko Beach, a big 60km trip east of the city. You can rent a beach hut for the day here, and get someone to make a barbeque for you. There's also a small market selling interesting art. You'll need to hire a drop taxi to get there.

A calm and peaceful beach
kamaljit_kj recommends this,
My company owns a hut on the beach. So my review will be based on that.
The beach is around 60km from the city. You can see nice vegetation along the way. The entry to the village (of the beach) will charge you 200N per head (for the driver too).
The cars can go till the beach only in rainy seasons (dry sand is more problematic), so u might have to walk for some 500m to reach the beach.
The hut has got 2 helpers who are happy to help you in watever way they can and for most things, they look for tips and no fixed amounts.
The beach is normally lonely with never more than 15 people seen by me in around 5 visits so far.
There are barbeque facilities, fresh water, toilets and bathrooms available. But its advisable to carry whatever you can to the beach - food, water, drinks, ice cubes, towels, games, books, etc.The beach is very calm and peaceful with least activities. Do not expect any water sports. Reasonably big waves, so keep safe.
