I can't see this having been asked before...

Does anyone know if there is any regular service to go from San Juan de nicaragua to blufields by boat?
Any other information that you might think handy on Caribbean-coast travel would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Buses from Managua to Leon on Good Friday

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the inter-city buses will be running on Good Friday (April 3). I will be landing in Managua in the morning and was planning on going straight to Leon. But I have heard that the buses won't be running because it is a holiday. Just hoping someone can confirm this for me.

Problem with Hertz rental at MGA

In March 2015 I tried to rent a car at MGA. I had an online reservation in which I had purchased the daily Liability Insurance Supplement. From talking with a Hertz representative at the time of the reservation I was assured that this would cover the mandatory insurance requirement. When I arrived at the Hertz counter at MGA to pick up the car the attendant there said that the insurance specified on my reservation was not enough and I would need to pay for an additional coverage package. I had a…

16 days in Nicaragua with 2 kids

We've (my husband, 11 and 7 y.o. kids, and me) booked airfare for a 16-day trip (not including travel days) to Nicaragua in August and were wondering what a good itinerary would be. My husband is Nicaraguan (doesn't speak Spanish but has almost perfect comprehension) but born in the US so we plan to spend a day or two to see Managua and Grenada were his parents are from. This is our first family trip out of the U.S. but my husband and I have taken some backpacking trips pre-kids (South America

7 days in Nicaragua - Leon or Granada?

Hi there,
We are looking to spend 7 days in Nicaragua in July.
We plan to spend 4 days in Little Corn Islands; and are wondering if we should spend the other 3 days in Leon or Granada?

We like to soak up the culture and feel the authentic Nicaragua lifestyle - away from hordes of tourist if we can help it.

Please advise!
Many thanks!

Private transfer from Managua airport to Granada

Hi,

My flight arrives MGA airport at 7pm and I'm thinking about taking a private transfer from the airport to Granada. Does anybody know a reliable company or has anybody had a good experience with such a private transfer ? I've read so many warnings related to taxis, especially at night time... Is it safe enough ? Otherwise, I might sleep at the Best Western across the street from the airport and take a private transfer the next morning...

Only given a 30 day tourist card when needed 90

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me. I took the Ticabus from San Jose, Costa Rica to Granada, Nicaragua today and at the border crossing all our passports were taken away and tourist cards added to our passports while we waited (so I wasn't present when the number of days was assigned). As I'd read that 90 days is automatic for EU citizens I just assumed this is what I'd get and didn't check at the time. On checking now I realised I've only been given 30 days. I really need 90 as I'm here for…
