I've already booked my reservation and flight for 2 weeks at the La Mariposa School south of Managua.
Given that, I thought I would solicit opinions on whether or not it was a smart move or not. I'm really looking forward to it because they advertise that you can mingle with the natives which is something I love doing.
Any experiences anyone had there would be nice to hear.
Planning to go 2-3 weeks to Nicaragua in November/ December. I'm looking for a calm beach on the Pasific coast. Any Sugesstions? Is this a good time of the year to go?
Does anyone know if there is a direct bus from Granada (Nicaragua) to Antigua (Guatemala)? I have looked at the flights from Managua to Guatemala city but the prices are ridiculous (just like all other cross-border flights in Central/South America), so bus would be the only option I can afford.
I have checked TICA bus (thanks to doing the search in this forum) but they stop for an overnight stay in San Salvador which I would like to avoid - because of people talking about safety in El…
We are a family of four, two adults and two children thinking if travelling from San Carlos to Managua. We have heard many differing reports regarding the journey time and would be keen to ask for advice from anybody who has done the trip recently? Could you advise how long it took and what the journey was like?
Hello! I would like to work from Nica, but only for a couple of weeks- would need at least 3-4 hours of quality internet per day, and am wondering if you have recommendations about where to go, where to stay, (somewhere that would have good day trips!) I'm also a yoga teacher and would love to offer some classes while I was there. Any recommendations much appreciated!
Hey I'm going to be in Nicaragua for 2 weeks as of Sept.14. Anyone else there interested in travelling. Figuring from Managua for a day to Leon then was looking at Corn Islands and see what goes from there.. Male 48... J
Hi! New poster here.
Is teaching in Nicaragua a viable option for a retiree? I'm thinking English, Math, or any Science as I'm a degreed engineer. I would not be looking for a ton of $ as I don't think it would be there anyways. Is it realistic to think that you could cover your living expenses there if you live "close to the earth?" Thanks in advance for any help.
How bad is the weather in Nicaragua the first half of October? We were thinking about spending two weeks between Leon and/or Granada, Matagalpa, and Omtepe (with a 2 1/2 year old). I know it is the rainy season, but what does this really mean? Is it typical to rain just in late afternoon for an hour? Or rain throughout the whole day? Any experience with this part of the country during that time of the year?
We can't really change our travel dates, but can still change the location…
My Nikon DSLR has developed a fault while I've been away, and I'm really hoping there might be somewhere I can go in Managua (or elsewhere in Nicaragua) to have it looked at. Any suggestions much appreciated!
I'm going to costa Rica for 2 weeks followed by Nica for 1 week. I'm going to isla de ometepe (3days), but then I need advice to choose for Corn island, Léon or san juan del sur. Corn island looks like heaven, but is it worth the flight for 2 or 3 days stay?
How much would a taxi cost from the border Los Chiles at costa rica to San Jorge in Nica?
