I visited Nicaragua last week for a solo vacation (i visited the major cities, ask me anything about them). I have been talking to an amazing lady friend who lives there for a few months and decided what better way to explore a foreign country than to visit her country and explore my feelings for her. In a nutshell, I hung out with her and her family the entire vacation and had a blast. I loved everything about the trip from the lady friend to the food to the people to the attitude to the…
So we are going from Jaco to Ometepe and on http://www.ticketbuscr.com we found shared shuttle that will bring us to San Juan Del Sur. It costs $89. Does anyone know if this would include any fees for border crossing?
Also on the way back, we are considering going from San Juan Del Sur to San Jose on TICABUS. Same price of $89. But would this include any border fees?
Are there any great beach other destinations worth considering other than SJDS? I'm looking for something that has some support infrastructures/restaurants/shopping but has a more laid back pace. Not interested in surfing or rabble raising. LOL But should have good swimming, and not outrageously expensive hotels would be nice. Any suggestions?
We are newbies heading to Nicaragua this week and the plan is to spend 4 days at the beach in Pochomil then head over to Granada for 3 more days before concluding our 1 week stay.
We are looking to do some intense relaxing in Pochomil and from what I've heard that's going to be easily achievable as it's pretty slow there during the week. But just in case I wanted to do some site seeing does anyone know what the best options are for securing a tour or hiring a taxi for a day sort…
Hi, given the current situation in the Americas is it advisable to bring your own mosquito nets, i would mainly be staying in hostels and guesthouses. I have never bothered before when going to tropical countries but not sure what travelers are doing out there at the moment?
As discussed in a previous post, I've found myself in Nicaragua for 3ish months (working). My current plan is to stay in Leon, where I've just arrived. I was wondering if anyone could offer any insight on the following:
- best way to find long term rentals (airbnb is complete nonsense, no craiglist listings for Leon, trying flipkey and encuetra24 to mixed success - the prices vary wildy, btw $150/mth and $900/mth)
- good cafes to work out of. Internet at the place I'm staying is…
Hi Nicaragua experts,
I wonder if it is possible to travel from San Carlos to Pearl Lagoon in 1 day?
As far as I know the earliest bus that leaves San Carlos is at 9am and it arrives in El Rama about 7 hours later. (+/- 4pm).
Will we be able to catch a bus from El Rama to Pearl Lagoon on that same day?
Does anybody know the bus schedule from El Rama to Pearl Lagoon?
Thanks for your help!
