we are planning a 3 weeks trip to Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Can you tell me how is diving at Corn Island? Is it better liken diving in Cocta Rica ? We won`t be able to go on a liver boat to Cocos Island.
I arrive into Managua on the morning of Dec 31st. I would ideally like to head straight out to the Corn Islands. I've read that the local flights go from just across from the main terminal and that I can just walk across and get a flight. Is it crazy to think that I might get a flight that same day since it's the busy season? I also don't have any accommodation booked as I never like to be tied to anything and while I've read lots of reports saying I should book in advance I've also read…
we are planning a 3 weeks trip to Nicaragua (only Ometepe, Corn Islands) and Costa Rica. I try to find out if it makes sence to book an open jaw flight to Managua and out of San Jose or fly to and out of San Jose and travel to Nicaragua via land ?
Hoping someone can help. We're leaving the aamazing Isla de Omeptepe tomorrow morning (26th) and our destination is Utila where we have reservations from 28th. Ideally, we'll get the morning ferry so we need to get to La Ceiba on 27th. This means we have two days and one night to get there. We thought we could go to Leon and get a shuttle at 8am but turns out it runs at 2am and we're not interested in travelling at night. Any tips greatly appreciated! John
I'm arriving in Nicaragua on Dec 30th and hoping to find a place to surf some good waves and take some Spanish lessons as well.
From all I've read January is the worst month but because in general the surf generally is so consistent, I'm still hoping to score some decent waves. So where would you recommend I should with the best chance of catching some decent waves?I was thinking of Playa Gigante because there's a spanish school right on the beach. However I'm open to anywhere.
I'm a 21 years old canadian woman and I'll be backpacking by myself in Nicaragua from the 29 to the 12, I want to ask you guys if anyone had some tips to give me, place to see/do, etc.
I am planning to spent the new year in San Juan Del Sur, and then to go up to Granada, Ometepe and Leon.
I was also wondering if anyone is travelling to Nicaragua for the time I'll be there, I would love to meet new people and enjoy the Nicaragua vibe with others travellers/or a group!
A quick search for this town / community is 5 years old ... I will be making my way up there in February 2015 from Guanacaste, CR to participate in a building workshop - and looking for current information.
It appears to be off the beaten track - hoping for some resources from this community ie a bus link would be awesome!
Thanks in advance, YN
Is Granada, Nicaragua like Antigua Guatemala?
Does it have similar beautiful colonial architecture? Historic hotels, a student population, spanish classes, great cafes and nightlife?
How would you compare the two cities? Your favorite?
Please give me a sense of the two.
