Lonely Planet review for Floriditas

From the outside this is one of Cuba St's prettiest buildings, and the interior is just as lovely, with a charming old-world European feel helped along by white tiles, velvet drapes and leather banquettes. Quality bistro fare is the order of the day.

    Floriditas - consistently good!

    One of my favourite restaurants in Wellington, consistently good food, service & atmosphere. The risottos are always good particularly the vegetarian ones, but the meat-eaters will not be disappointed - can't go wrong with lamb, always cooked to perfection and nicely rested. You MUST have one of their Neenish Tarts, even if you aren't a dessert person, and accompany it with some tea (served in a lovely china cup and saucer), and don't miss the fab water pitchers ... all lovely touches in a restaurant that can pride itself on very happy (and regular) customers, whatever the occasion - be it a casual brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner; equally comfortable on your own, with friends or on a date! The only (minor) complaint is that they ask too often if they can get you anything else and the maitre d' could be more friendly at the "check-out".
