Lonely Planet review for Dockside
An upmarket, nautically themed restaurant-bar, popular for after-work tie-loosening later in the week (it's nicknamed the 'dry cleaners' on a Friday night, as it's where you come to pick up a suit). Great indoor-outdoor venue with water frontage and quality seafood.

horrible ! we worked away angry !
oagmot does not recommend this,
My partner and I had dinner when we were visiting Wellington on Saturday night and decided to have dinner at this restaurant thinking that it would be a nice meal since it was recommended on the lonely planet. What a disappointment it was!
We ordered oysters kilpatrick with garlic bread, market fish of the day and roast lamb. The waitress did not explain the fish of the day and just left. When our oysters arrived, each of our oysters had broken shells in them and we both had broken shells in our mouths which was very unpleasant. Our garlic bread did not arrive. The fish and the lamb were very average.
We had dined in quite a few restaurants in Wellington and we really think that the price you charge for the very average food that was served was too high. It was a disappointing evening for us.
I strongly recommend some of the cafes on cuba st. It will be better value for money and the quality of food will be a lot better.
