Air New Zealand has regular flights from Taupo to Auckland and Wellington. There are also charter flights linking Tongariro with any destination in the North and South Island, run by Mountain Air. The Tranz Scenic Overlander train on the Auckland–Wellington line stops at National Park and Ohakune. From Taupo, InterCity buses connect with most major destinations around NZ, while Naked Bus services most major routes. There are several private shuttle-bus services operating around Tongariro National Park, and serving the snowfields in winter.
