Lonely Planet review
Welcome to paradise. One of the best hotels in NZ, Huka Lodge basks in accolades and a procession of famous guests, including at least three queens. Surrounded by lush bush and delightful gardens, the main lodge has a homey feel (albeit the home of a wealthy aesthete) and features shared dining and lounge areas, and a library. Individual guest lodges are dotted along the riverside, with views and privacy. Rates include breakfast and a five-course dinner. There are also two entirely self-contained cottages set apart on the grounds.
Our independent authors have visited Huka Lodge and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Taupo.
