Rainbow’s End
It's a bit lame by international standards but Rainbow's End has enough rides (including a corkscrew rollercoaster) to keep the kids happy all day, plus plenty of sugary snacks to fuel it all. Admission includes unlimited rides.

Puzzling World
A 3-D Great Maze and lots of ‘now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t’ visual tomfoolery to keep kids of all ages bemused, bothered and bewildered. It’s en route to Cromwell, 2km from town.

Spookers
If walking around an old mental hospital in the dark wasn't scary enough, try it with freaks dripping blood and wielding chainsaws chasing you. Attractions include the Haunted House, the Freaky Forest of Fear, Disturbia and, perhaps freakiest of all, the summer-only Cornevil set in a real corn maze. It's rated R16, but there are some R8 daytime Creepers shows.
Take the Southern Motorway to the Papakura off-ramp (about 32km), turn left and drive 14km towards impending doom.
