Blog: Landlopers - 26 September 2011
Sue was right on time picking me up from the Edgewater Hotel and asked if I’d bundled up enough. I hadn’t planned well for New Zealand’s South Island. Intellectually I knew that it would be winter, but for some reason I never processed that this...Copyright LandLopers All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized use prohibited.

Visiting Rippon Winery – The Most Photographed Vineyard in the World
Blog: Landlopers - 24 August 2011
I first heard about Rippon Winery at dinner my first night in Wanaka. The manager had stopped by to see how my meal was going and was shocked that I hadn’t tried any wine from nearby Rippon vineyards. I really didn’t know what to say,...Copyright LandLopers All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized use prohibited.

On the Road Again – Franz Josef to Wanaka on the Great West Coast Drive
Blog: Landlopers - 22 August 2011
My trip to New Zealand was a blur of sheep, gorgeous views and of course roads – lots of roads. I recently wrote about my first day driving on the Great West Coast Road of New Zealand’s South Island, but it was the second day...Copyright LandLopers All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized use prohibited.

I woke early on my fifth day in New Zealand; it was still dark in the mountain outpost of Franz Josef. Franz Josef exists for the mountains and the glacier, and tourists flock here in droves. Little did I realize when I started the...Copyright LandLopers All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized use prohibited.

5 Reasons Why New Zealand?
Blog: A Traveler's Library - 15 March 2011
Thank Goodness New Zealand is back in business for travelers, and I’m joining BlogNZ to encourage people to GO. I won’t live long enough to see all the wonders this world has to offer. While I struggle to accept that fact, I can console myself that in two weeks I saw more of earth’s variety [...]This content is a post from: A Traveler's Library To comment on this post or search for related information, click on the link to A Traveler's Library. What a day
Blog: 2 Wheels - 1 World - 0 Money - 8 January 2011
Now I know why New Zealand has become a very popular destination for people who are looking to find the perfect place to retire. The fact that one is physically very far away from all the haste, the happenings and the distractions the rest of the world perpetually proposes, permeates and consequently affects most of my thoughts and actions. A walk around a magnificently peaceful lake, some relaxing kayaking and ice cream in a chilled out nice little cafe with a beautiful view made my day.

Take a run and jump. Queenstown (and Wanaka), New Zealand
Blog: Chronicles of a year-long break-up - 27 June 2010
Before we even set foot on New Zealand soil I was dying to get back to Queenstown, the spectacular mountain setting for what had once been the greatest 8½ seconds of my life. You would imagine that 8½ seconds is so small a portion of time that it could hardly even be measured but as [...]

Blog: No Hurry Curry - 10 March 2010
2/28/10: Wanaka, New Zealand No matter how big this blog gets, we’ll always have a spot in our hearts for the common folk. New Zealand
Blog: Patrick and Katrina do the Globe - 14 September 2009
After a fourteen-hour flight from Santiago, a layover in Auckland, and another short flight to the South Island, we arrived with bleary eyes in Christchurch, New Zealand. We were pretty excited about getting to a place where English is the first language, but we soon realized that Kiwis have their own variety of English; the accent and vocabulary are so different we often found ourselves scratching our heads. It took us a bit of time to figure out not to be insulted when asked if we were planning to "do some tramping" while on the island (meaning hiking).

Wanaka: Where our booties pay the price
Blog: 12FOOT3 - 9 December 2008

Though the weather was not ideal when we were in the area, we still fully enjoyed the amazing landscape that we have come to expect from this magical country. But first…sheep crossing!!! Wanaka The Wanaka landscape [...]
